Maracaipe bay has the most beautiful beach of the Porto de Galinhas area, and is one of the best locations for diving. The water is warm in all seasons, and it's crystal clear sea pools are home to an abundance of diversified marine life. With that in mind, the Pousada dos Coqueiros can help you to explore this wonderful underwater world by arranging for instructors and equipment for scuba diving and snorkeling. We have coral reefs located 100 metres (328 feet) off-shore where you can see a variety of marine life such as lobster, shrimp, octopus and many species of brightly colored fish. It's a giant aquarium! For a more exciting diving experience, we also have deep-sea reefs located 16 km (10 miles) off-shore, where the water is 30 - 40 metres (98 - 130 feet) deep. Here you will find grouper, ray and barracuda. Maracaipe is also a wonderful location to experience other water sports and activities such as; surfing, kite-surfing, wind-surfing, and sports fishing, or enjoy a leisurely stroll to Maracaipe's point, where you will discover an estuary with sea horses, the diversity of mangrove life, colorful jangada's (sailing rafts) and motor-buggy rides. If relaxation is more your style, you can enjoy a leisurely stroll along the white sand beach to Maracaipe Point. A walk in the other direction will bring you to Porto de Galinhas, where you can explore the many small arts and craft shops.
